Principal Speech Pathologist & “The Speech Guy”
Michael is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP), member of Speech Pathology Australia (MSPA), and member of the Australasian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI). He provides adult speech pathology services for clients with neurological conditions.
Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from The University of Queensland in 2014. With ten years of experience, Michael has worked across a wide range of areas. His experience includes:
- Working with brain injury, stroke and neurology caseloads across various major tertiary hospitals (including the Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Gold Coast University Hospital)
- Providing home-based & community rehabilitation services
- Providing community and residential aged care services
- Working within the private healthcare/disability sector in multiple senior and leadership positions
Given his vast experience, Michael is highly practiced in providing adult speech pathology services for clients with a range of conditions including stroke, acquired brain injury, progressive neurological conditions (e.g. Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease etc.) and other disabilities. Michael has a particular interest in the assessment and intervention of adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties following stroke or brain injury.
Michael founded The Speech Guy & Co. with the intention of providing high-quality communication and swallowing interventions, whilst considering the priorities and uniqueness of each client. Michael is also passionate that all services must be provided with a caring, compassionate and empathetic attitude.
When not working, Michael can be found cooking, exploring new places within Brisbane, or chilling with his cats, Churro & Bella.
